What is a commoditized offer?

Your business death sentence.

Commoditization is the process of converting products or services into standardized, marketable objects.

This process tends to strip away unique or identifying qualities of the commodity in favor of identical, lower cost items that can be interchanged with one another.

In other words…

Your product or service, will only differentiate itself by the price it has.

So with time you will have to lower the price.

In order to continue being attractive and competitive to the market.

What is going to happen here?

Your business probably has operational costs.

You have to buys the products you sell.

Buy the materials and ingredients to run your restaurant.

Pay the guys who will deliver the service in your marketing agency.

Or just bag enough money, so you can eat in the month.

If your business and offer is commoditized.

You will end up lowering so much the prices.

That eventually you are going to reach.

The famous and frightened BREAK-EVEN.

You are no longer making profits with your business in this point.

Because the competence just under-priced your offer.

You may ask why are you and your business in this situation.

The answer is actually very simple.

You are not competing in value.

What does that mean Ale? You are probably wondering.

Well price is no longer a factor in which you can differentiate.

Value is the answer.

What can you provide to your clients than no one else can?

How much value comes with you offer?

What are your clients getting by purchasing your product or service?

What I mean here is, that they are not only getting a bottle to drink water.

They are getting:

  • The chance to be healthier.

  • To get the habit of drinking 2 gallons per day.

  • To feel better.

  • Build a good routine.

See the point?

This is the value of the offer.

The way to differentiate and win to the competence.

This is the way to put the price you want to your offer.

And have a high-ticket product or service.

So you can scale your business and save it from its inevitable death.

Obviously you have to be able to communicate this value to your leads.

Otherwise it won’t do any good.

Also you might want to put together a really good offer.
